Updated: Jul 28, 2023

みなさん、こんにちは!

I have uploaded the video titled ‘The Rhythm of びゃびゅびょ and Other Contracted Sounds’ to the members’ page.

In this video, you’ll practice the rhythm of contracted sounds using pairs such: as

びょういん(hospital, 病院)

びよういん(hair salon, 美容院)

じゅう(gun, 銃)

じゆう(freedom, 自由)

ひゃく(hundred, 百)

ひやく(great leap/ rapid progress, 飛躍)

And you’ll also learn to say ‘Kyoto’(きょうと、京都)in Japanese.

The video will cover the mora of these words as well as their natural rhythm.

If you ever found any of them difficult to pronounce, please check this video.

I’m sure it will be helpful.

By the way, I finished watching the Japanese drama ‘サンクチュアリ’(Sanctuary), on Netflix last night.

It contains too much violence compared to the dramas or shows I normally watch, and you might pick up a lot of bad words from it, but the story was very intriguing. I couldn’t stop watching it. I’ll write its review soon!
